Creative Sewing Machines is a family owned store that has been in business for 34 years. We have been associated with BERNINA all that time.

Searching for stronger markets, we left Tazewell, Virginia 14 years ago. Part of that move was founding creativesewing.com and making our BERNINA Embroidery workbooks available. Therefore, our strategic move had a double benefit because we have also enjoyed the website activity. The site is updated daily, sometimes only in a minor way, and sometimes in a right out major introduction of new content. Our goal is to make it dynamic and more than a static billboard.

The first BERNINA sewing machine we sold was the old 830 and we progressed through all BERNINA offerings through the years. When the BERNINA embroidery software was introduced, we quickly detected a need to help our customers by writing workbooks. We have done that with great success for versions 3, 4, 5, and 6. BERNINA version 6 software.

Mt. Airy, NC is the birthplace of Andy Griffith. His growing up home is around the corner, and if you know anything about "Mayberry," that mythical place is based on us. Floyd's Barbershop and the Snappy Lunch restaurant are right down the street. Join the town for Mayberry Days and the Autumn Leaves Festival each October.

Route 52 is the town's bypass.

From Winston Salem:

Follow Route 52 to the Route 89 Exchange--you are now 1/2 mile away

At the end of the exit ramp go straight thru 5 stoplights

Turn right onto N. Main at the 5th stop light

Go through one more stop light. Creative Sewing Machines is on the right at 247 N. Main Street.

From Interstate 77:

Take exit 100 and follow Rt. 89 into Mt. Airy
