Embroidered Chenille Pillow
Begin with your favorite embroidery design, then compliment it with chenille created by layers of fabric. The Olfa Chenille Cutter is a must to cut the strips effectively and easily. Create a beautiful work of art that you can place on your sofa or bed!
Thursday November 3rd from 4:00PM to 8:30PM
Tuition: $25.00
Class # 10605
Below are the supplies that you will need for this class:
Fabric: 100% cotton or rayon. DO NOT BUY ANY FABRIC THAT HAS
POLYESTER CONTENT. IT WILL NOT WORK!
1 yard: print for top of pillow. This can be a very bold, bright print. The chenille effect will mute the colors and give it a Victorian quality. Prior to class: Cut 4 squares that measure 8 7/8", cut 2 rectangles that measure 12" x 20" from this fabric.
3/8 yd of 4 different solid or fabrics that read as solid colors that coordinate with the fabric chosen for the top. Prior to class: Cut 4 squares from each of these colors that measure 8 7/8".
3/4 yard of background fabric. Prior to class : cut a 24" x 24" square from this fabric. Spray with fabric stabilizer and press well. Using your Embroidery machine, embroider a design in the center of the square. You might want to choose a design that uses the same colors as your fabric and coordinates with the print, or you could do a monogram or geometric pattern. Use proper stabilizer when doing the embroidery. The design should not be larger than 4" x 4" in size. If you don't own an embroidery machine, you can arrange to come in and use ours to embroider a design prior to class day.
Please bring these items in addition to your fabrics:
Sewing machine in good working order with all accessories, foot control and power cord.
General sewing supplies: pins, seam ripper, etc.
Good sharp pointed scissors
Olfa Chenille Cutter (a new and wonderful tool that’s a must have!)

16" pillow form
3 medium size buttons for the pillow back
