808: Mystery Quilt
This class creates a quilt that finishes 64 x 76”, including borders. You’ll need a feature, a coordinate and a contrast fabric. In class we’ll create the top without borders, which you’ll put on at home.
Feature Fabric: 1 ¼ yard
CUT: 4 Strips 6 ½” x 40, then cut 20 Squares 6 ½” x 6 ½”
CUT: 4 Strips 3 ½” x 40, then cut 40 squares 3 ½” x 3 ½”
Coordinate Fabric: 1 ¼ yard
Cut: 4 strips 6 ½” x 40”, then cut 20 squares 6 ½” x 6 ½”
Cut: 4 strips 3 ½” x 40”, then cut 40 squares 3 ½” x 3 ½”
Contrast Fabric: 1 yard
8 strips 3 ½” x 40, then cut 80 squares 3 ½” x 3 ½”
INNER BORDER: Coordinate: ¾ yard, cut 6 strips 3 ½” x 40
MIDDLE BORDER: Contrast: 3/8 yard, cut 7 strips 1 ½” x 40
OUTER BORDER: Feature: 1 yard, cut 7 strips 4 ½ x 40
Cornerstones: Contrast: scraps—cut 3 ½” x 3 ½”
Batting: Twin Size
Backing: 4 ¾ yd
Binding: 2/3 yard
In addition to the fabrics, please bring to class:
Sewing Machine, power cord, foot control, slide on table
Rotary Cutter and ruler
Small rotary cutting mat if you have it
¼” patchwork foot such as the #37 or the #57
regular sewing notions you need such as scissors, seam ripper, stiletto if you use it
