03202019: Chenille Blanket

We will show you how to take five identical panels and line them up, how to pin, and how to quilt your quilt so that it can be "chenilled". After it's quilted and bound, you'll use a chenille cutter to cut in between the rows. After washing and drying, it'll be soft and fuzzy and so much fun to snuggle under! We've made ours in both panels and regular cut yardage, so you can choose which one you'd like to do.

You will not finish your quilt in class, but we will give you all the instructions to finish up at home. The sewing takes a hot minute!

Supplies needed:

4 identical panels and enough fabric for the back of the panel
(4) 1.25 yards of fabric that has a repeat (we will  help you pick out your fabric), and a backing to go with it that is 1.25 yards
1/2 yard of fabric for binding
Thread to match

A chenille cutter
Safety pins (you can use regular pins. If you use regular pins, please also bring bandaids).
